GENERAL PRESENTATION OF DUTIES
The transport and workshop manager reports to the managing director.
- He is in charge of the transport section made of 12 trucks, 4 pickups and the workshop.
He is an essential element in the logistic chain as he will guarantee the steady accretion of the wood chip production from the plantation into the storage area located in the port of Kribi.
Upon each export loading, the transport manager is also in charge of transferring the entire volume of wood chips from the storage to the quay where the export vessel is operating within a maximum of 3 days.
- He is in charge as well of the workshop located in the storage site near the port, where all vehicles will be maintained and serviced. This workshop will employ about 3 staff (2 mechanics and 1 welder).
COMPETENCIES AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
The transport and workshop manager must be a confirmed Manager in an equivalent organisation in Cameroon with at least 10 years of experience in truck fleet management and heavy duty machinery.
- Able to run with discipline and structure the operations of a fleet of about 12 trucks + 1 service truck + 4 pickups requiring a total of about 30 staff.
- Strong organisation skills are required in order to enforce internal procedure for speed control, vehicle maintenance, road safety, spare parts management.
- Established personality able to motivate and organize a department of 30 drivers.
- Good linguistic skills in English, additional knowledge in French is required.
- Good expression, in verbal and writing. Sense of detail, being able to consistently produce accurate reports.

DETAILED TASKS
Organisation of roster for day and night shift drivers
- Monitoring of maintenance schedule for each vehicle of the company
- Follow up of fuel consumption by vehicle
- Spare parts ordering
- Scheduling of machine maintenance in the workshop
